Marvel – A Remarkable French Bulldog Soon Ready to Find Her Forever Home!
Meet Marvel! Marvel is a vibrant and lovable 4-year-old female French Bulldog who is overflowing with affection and enthusiasm for her new lease on life! Despite facing significant medical challenges, Marvelās spirit remains unshaken, and she has been a delightful companion to everyone who meets her.
Marvel came to us from a local shelter, where she was in desperate need of medical attention. She is scheduled to undergo BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) surgery and will also be spayed. Upon intake, Marvel was suffering from a severe skin infection and a painful urinary tract infection (UTI) that caused her bladder to fill with sludge. Thankfully, with proper care and treatment, sheās on the mend and showing remarkable resilience!
Cat-Friendly Superstar! One of Marvelās most standout qualities is her amazing compatibility with cats. She passed her initial cat test with flying colors, and when she moved into a temporary foster home with three cats, she adapted beautifully to each of their unique personalities. Since then, Marvel has continued to thrive in other foster homes with feline companionsāshe truly loves them all!
Itās likely Marvel lived peacefully with cats in her past, and she would absolutely flourish in a forever home that includes a cat buddy. Honestly, sheād be thrilled to have a feline friend to hang out with!
Dog Compatibility Marvel is full of personality and prefers to be the star of the show in her home. She thrives as a solo dog and is looking for a forever family where she doesnāt have to share attention with other dogs. While she can enjoy the company of select dog buddies with proper introductions slow building friendships, Marvel tends to play hard and can become overstimulated, so off-leash play and group dog settings arenāt the right fit for her.
Marvel can be leash reactive to some dogs, but sheās working hard on improving her focus and is responding well to positive reinforcement trainingāespecially when yummy treats are involved! With consistency and structure, sheās making great progress. Her ideal setup is a home where sheās the one and only, getting all the love and guidance she deserves.
Medical Needs Marvel has ongoing medical needs that will require lifelong management. She has skin allergies, which we are actively treating, and severe dry eye, necessitating daily eye drops. She also came in with horrendous ear infections and unfortunately they will be a life long need to manage. Despite these challenges, she remains a happy and energetic dog who loves life. We are committed to providing Marvel with the best care possible and have scheduled two upcoming surgeries to ensure her continued health and well-being before adoption.
Personality & Behavior Marvel is a true cuddle bug who loves being close to her people. Sheās energetic, enjoys playing with toys, and loves leisurely walks. Whether itās snuggling on the couch or engaging in playtime, Marvel brings joy to every moment. She is well-behaved when left alone, has mastered house training, and while she is not kennel-trained, she does just fine without one.
Seeking a Foster-to-Adopt Home We are now starting the search for a loving foster-to-adopt home for Marvel. This special home will need to provide her with the love, attention, and care she deserves as she continues her journey to optimal health. All of Marvelās medical needs, including medications, vet care, food, supplies, and support, will be fully covered by the Victoria Bulldog Society during the foster-to-adopt period. However please remember Marvel will require lifetime medical care for her allergies and eyes as well her ears.Ā
