Meet Bruce Lee – A Kissy French Bulldog/Boston Terrier Mix
Bruce Lee came into our care paralyzed, but his determination and joyful spirit have never wavered. Since arriving, he has been working hard in rehabilitation, and we are committed to helping him regain as much mobility as possible. Once he reaches a stable maintenance phase in his healing journey, we will be looking for a very special foster-to-adopt home for him.
Bruce Lee is truly one-of-a-kind — a happy, affectionate boy who loves everyone he meets. He wants to be friends with all dogs, although sometimes they’re unsure about his wheelchair at first. That never stops Bruce Lee! He rolls right up like he’s driving a monster truck, ready for his next adventure.
He currently attends rehabilitation once a week and receives electro-acupuncture every three weeks. His dedicated foster mom also performs daily stretches and exercises. Thanks to this consistent care, Bruce Lee has made incredible progress— going from zero movement and rigid legs to now having full range of motion in his hips, knees, ankles, and toes. He’s gained muscle, is beginning to feel parts of his feet, and nerve connectivity is improving — something that wasn’t present when he first arrived.
Bruce Lee’s journey is ongoing, and while his progress is amazing, he will always be considered a special needs dog. He requires a committed, patient, and loving home that understands the additional care involved. He may not be the right fit for everyone — but for the right person, he will be an incredibly rewarding companion.
Personality & Behaviour
Bruce Lee is the sweetest, happiest little guy you could meet.
- Loves giving kisses (he’s very generous with them!)
- Friendly with all people
- Gets along well with other dogs (currently fostered with another bulldog)
- Curious and social on outings
- Not yet tested with cats, but we can arrange this for the right home
Despite his challenges, Bruce Lee approaches life with enthusiasm and joy. His wheels don’t slow him down — they simply help him explore more.
Home Requirements
Bruce Lee will need a home that can safely accommodate his mobility needs:
- No stairs, or someone able to comfortably carry him
- Comfortable, accessible spaces for wheelchair use
- Commitment to ongoing exercises and stretching
- A patient, dedicated caregiver willing to support his continued progress
Bruce Lee loves to go on adventures and cruises around in his wheelchair like an ATV — he’ll happily explore wherever his people go!
Medical Needs
Bruce Lee does require some ongoing special care:
- Bladder expression for urination
- Assistance with bowel movements (he is on a routine and has tone)
- Continued rehab support and monitoring
- Contuned hyrotherapy & electro-acupunture
The good news is that Bruce Lee does have urine and fecal tone, and his routine is fairly predictable with proper scheduling.
Foster-to-Adopt Opportunity
We are seeking a special foster-to-adopt home for Bruce Lee — someone prepared to provide love, patience, and dedication as he continues his healing journey.
During the fostering period:
- All veterinary care
- Medications
- Food and supplies
- Ongoing support
will be fully covered by the Victoria Bulldog Society.
This arrangement allows the right family to bond with Bruce Lee while ensuring he continues receiving the care he needs.
