Biggie Smalls the Notorious B.I.G
Biggie Smalls – Meet Our Big Personality in a Little Package!
Meet Biggie Smalls! This handsome 6-year-old English Bulldog may be short in stature, but trust us when we say he is BIG in personality! Weighing in at 37 lbs, Biggie is a small but heavy little guy with a whole lot of bulldog determination packed into his compact frame.
Biggie is looking for a special home willing to be part of his ongoing medical journey, helping us work toward improving his comfort, health, and quality of life. He’s got some medical challenges to work through, but he’s also got plenty of love, personality, and fantastic backyard zoomies to share with the right person!
Home Requirements
Biggie is looking for a committed foster or foster-to-adopt home on southern Vancouver Island. His ideal home will have a securely fenced yard, and a doggie door would be a huge bonus! Because of his megacolon, Biggie needs to poop much more frequently than the average dog, so having the ability to get outside whenever he needs to would make life much easier for everyone.
Potential fosters will need to be comfortable managing his toileting routine, occasional urinary leaking, and additional hygiene needs. At 37 lbs, Biggie is a solid little bulldog, and his future home will need someone physically able to lift him into the bath when he needs a good clean-up.
Dog compatibility: Biggie does well with most dogs, although he can be a little bossy with some. He also has dogs he absolutely loves and gets along with beautifully. He’s learning to play with other bulldogs and is getting the hang of proper bulldog wrestling! Careful introductions and choosing the right canine companions will be important.
Cats and small animals: Biggie is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals.
Children: A home without young children would be best for Biggie, although older, dog-savvy children may be a good fit.
His future home must be patient, understanding, and prepared to work alongside Victoria Bulldog Society as we continue managing his medical needs. This isn’t a placement for someone looking for a carefree, low-maintenance dog, but for the right person, helping Biggie on his journey could be incredibly rewarding.
Medical Needs
Biggie has megacolon, a condition that affects his ability to pass stool normally. He needs to poop much more frequently than the average dog, and we are continuing to work on finding the best ways to manage his condition and improve his comfort and quality of life.
He also experiences some urinary leaking due to his spinal structure. We are continuing to work on managing this issue as well. His future home should be prepared for extra cleaning, regular bathroom opportunities, and some additional hygiene care.
Once we have his megacolon better managed, our hope is to move forward with BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) surgery and dental surgery. These procedures could help improve his breathing, comfort, and exercise tolerance.
Our priority is to work through his medical challenges one step at a time and give him the best possible quality of life. His foster home will play an important role in helping us understand his needs and monitor his progress.
Victoria Bulldog Society will provide guidance and support throughout his medical journey. His care will be approached as a team effort, with the goal of helping Biggie feel as comfortable and happy as possible.
Personality & Behavior
Biggie may be short in stature, but his personality is anything but small! This boy loves his chew toys, enjoys a little game of fetch, and absolutely loves car rides. When it’s time to relax, he’ll happily settle in for some couch cuddles with his favourite humans.
Give him access to a securely fenced yard, and you might be lucky enough to witness his incredible zoomies! 💨 Biggie may not be built for long walks, but he certainly knows how to have fun in his own way.
He’s also learning to socialize and play with other bulldogs. When he finds a dog he really clicks with, he can let his guard down and enjoy a good wrestling session. With other dogs, he can be a little bossy, so finding the right match is important.
And when it comes to toys or anything else he decides belongs to him, bulldog determination is an understatement!😂 If Biggie has something he wants to keep, you probably aren’t getting it back without some very tempting treats. His future home will need to understand his quirks, respect his boundaries, and continue using positive reinforcement and reward-based training.
Underneath that stubborn little bulldog exterior is a guy who loves his people, enjoys his comforts, and deserves the chance to feel his very best.
Biggie doesn’t need a marathon buddy. He needs someone who will cheer on his backyard zoomies, share the couch, keep the chew toys coming, and help him work through his medical challenges one step at a time.
Seeking a Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Home
We are looking for a committed foster or foster-to-adopt home for Biggie Smalls on southern Vancouver Island. This special home will need to provide patience, understanding, and a willingness to continue his medical journey with the guidance and support of Victoria Bulldog Society.
Biggie’s medical needs are still being worked through, and we need someone who understands that progress may take time. His future home must be prepared to help us manage his megacolon, monitor his urinary leaking, assist with his hygiene, and support him as we work toward improving his overall quality of life.
Victoria Bulldog Society will provide guidance and support throughout his foster journey, so you won’t be navigating his medical needs alone.
Biggie deserves someone who sees more than his medical challenges. He deserves someone who sees the goofy, determined, toy-loving little bulldog who enjoys car rides, couch cuddles, and the occasional full-speed backyard zoomie!
If you have room in your home and heart for this special boy, we’d love to hear from you. ❤️
